BIT 2007 e idee per i tuoi viaggi

Ieri a Milano è terminata la BIT 2007, Borsa Internazionale del Turismo.
Sebbene quest'anno sia stata ospitata nel nuovo polo fieristico di Rho-Pero, 65000 mq di padiglioni futuristici progettati su design Massimiliano Fuksas, l'impressione rispetto agli anni scorsi è stata più che altro quella di trovarsi di fronte ad un'immensa agenzia di viaggio: poche le offerte "speciali" per la fiera, pochi i viaggi "non-tradizionali", poco informati gli operatori presenti che più che altro di preoccupavano di lasciare la propria business card o i riferimenti dei loro partners italiani. Bah!
Ad ogni modo è stata una giornata di "viaggio virtuale" dove trarre spunti per prossime destinazioni:
1. Romantico
Weekend in uno dei fari in Irlanda o Scozia...onestamente al paragone, niente mi sembra poter reggere la concorrenza di tu&lei circondati dalla brughiera, con il solo rumore delle onde che si infrangono sulla scogliera, magari di fronte a un camino o avvolti in pesanti maglioni
2. Naturalistico
Alla scoperta dei Parchi naturali dell'Uganda, da Entebbe a Mbarara, alla foresta impenetrabili di Bwindi, l'unico posto al mondo dove si entra in contatto con i gorilla di montagna
3. Avventura
Qui sono indeciso tra l'Etiopia e il mito dell'Arca ad Axum, o un (costoso) giro tra i geyser dell'Islanda.
4. Storico
Nessun dubbio: la Siria. Con possibilità di gite spot in Libano o Giordania (Petra).
5. Luna di miele
Consigliatissimo: la Polinesia, prima però passando dal Cile e Isola di Pasqua. Strafigherrimo!

E l'Italia?
Ci facciamo conoscere subito.
Avete sentito del portale Italia.it e dei suoi 40+ milioni di euro di budget?
Sicuramente non la prende bene chi vi entra usando Firefox come browser e vede tutto bianco.
Un progetto miliardario almeno al momento fallimentare: come si può creare il contenitore prima dei contenuti, specialmente nell'era in cui i contenuti (free)vengono prodotti principalmente dal basso?

Consoliamoci con gli stand del Friuli Venezia Giulia (l'unico gia' operativo alle 9 con un modello delle Frecce Tricolori in cui poter provare una simulazione di volo!, mentre quelli delle altre regioni appena cominciavano ad allestire gli spazi) e della Basilicata (interessante la proposta del Cine-Turismo considerando tutti i films girati a Matera e dintorni: The Passion of Christ di Mel Gibson, Il Vangelo secondo Matteo di Pier Paolo Pasolini, The Nativity Story di Catherine Hardwicke, The Omen di John Moore, L'Uomo delle Stelle di Giuseppe Tornatore, King David di Bruce Beresford, Cristo si è fermato ad Eboli di Francesco Rosi, La Lupa di Alberto Lattuada, e molti altri).

Egypt blogger jailed for 'insult' (source BBC)

Soliman was arrested for his "insulting" blog posts in NovemberAn Egyptian court has sentenced a blogger to four years' prison for insulting Islam and the president. Abdel Kareem Soliman's trial was the first time that a blogger had been prosecuted in Egypt. He had used his web log to criticise the country's top Islamic institution, al-Azhar university and President Hosni Mubarak, whom he called a dictator.
A human rights group called the verdict "very tough" and a "strong message" to Egypt's thousands of bloggers.
Soliman, 22, was tried in his native city of Alexandria. He blogs under the name Kareem Amer.
A former student at al-Azhar, he called the institution "the university of terrorism" and accused it of suppressing free thought. The university expelled him in 2006 and pressed prosecutors to put him on trial. During the five-minute court session the judge said Soliman was guilty and would serve three years for insulting Islam and inciting sedition, and one year for insulting Mr Mubarak. Egypt arrested a number of bloggers who had been critical of the government during 2006, but they were all subsequently freed.
Hafiz Abou Saada of the Egyptian Human Rights Organisation called the sentence "a strong message to all bloggers who are put under strong surveillance".
The UK-based organisation Amnesty International said the ruling was "yet another slap in the face of freedom for expression in Egypt". Fellow blogger Amr Gharbeia told the BBC it would not stop Egyptian bloggers from expressing opinions as "it is very difficult to control the blogosphere". There have been no reported comments on the sentence from the Egyptian authorities.

ALESSANDRIA D'EGITTO (Reuters) - Un tribunale di Alessandria d'Egitto ha condannato oggi un blogger egiziano per aver criticato il presidente Egiziano Hosni Mubarak e la religione islamica. Il giudice gli ha inflitto una pena di quattro anni di reclusione per il contenuto dei suoi articoli pubblicati sulla Rete.
Abdel Karim Suleiman, un ex studente di legge, è stato il primo blogger egiziano a essere citato in giudizio per il contenuto del suo blog. Si trova sotto custodia da novembre, dopo aver scritto otto articoli sul suo blog dal 2004. I movimenti per i diritti civili e i blogger vicini all'opposizione hanno seguito con attenzione il caso Suleiman, preoccupati che una condanna possa creare un precedente legale per limitare la libertà di espressione sulla Rete in Egitto, il paese più popoloso del mondo arabo. Internet è diventato il medium più utilizzato dagli egiziani che vogliono criticare il loro governo, in un paese dove i mezzi di comunicazione più importanti sono di proprietà dello Stato. Suleiman, un musulmano liberale, non ha negato di essere l'autore degli articoli, ma ha dichiarato di aver solamente espresso il suo punto di vista.
In uno degli articoli incriminati, il blogger sosteneva che nella sede del Cairo di al-Azhar, uno dei principali enti educativi del paese, si promuovevano idee estremiste. In un altro articolo, intitolato "La nuda verità dell'islam, per quello che ho visto io", accusava i musulmani di aver commesso una barbarie negli scontri tra islamici e cristiani di Alessandria nel 2005.
Suleiman aveva anche criticato Mubarak, paragonandolo a un faraone dell'antico Egitto.

Love corner in Rome

If you looked at the previous post's video clip, you'd notice a street lamp very weird:- it's full of padlocks, signs of love promises will last for ever...
The lamp is situed in Milvio's Bridge, crossing Tiber river in Rome.

At The beginning

Does really exist that padlock in Ponte Milvio in Roma, otherthere, on the bridge, the oldest one mirroring on Tevere, in front of the Corso Francia bridge? Is it true that if you put a padlock, close it and throw away the key, you'll love forever your partner or the one you wish to?
Maybe yes...
It exists for who believes. who dreams. who love the sea. who love the wind, inclining the motorbike, and holding the driver. For who inclines the head and sometime blushes and redden. But then smiles and look again, more intensely because....because she feels like you. For her that doesn't change, her smiling and running, her candid, her with a beautiful smile, her looking at the stars and sometime scaring, and holding you tight, her freezing, her getting asleep...Her smiling crazy for a joke, and getting angry if someone hasn't catch it, but smiling again because she really enjoyed that joke. For herpouting but then forgiving as she's a good person, big-hearted, for her loving the others, for her that doesn't save herself, she's brave and believes in what she does. For her that discusses and almost feels bad if she overtalked, although she keeps convinced of her points.
That's all, for you. You're like her. For you dreamer, therefore for you that lovers padlock exists. Hopefully someday you'll visit Rome and that bridge, Ponte Milvio, and on the third streetlamp, mirroring on Tiber river, in front of the Corso Francia bridge...you, you'll find that padlock.

Ma esiste sul serio quella catena a Ponte Milvio a Roma, lì, sul ponte, al terzo lampione, quello che si affaccia sul Tevere, che guarda il ponte di Corso Francia? E' vero che se vai lì e metti un lucchetto, lo chiudi e poi butti via la chiave, ti amerai per sempre con la persona con la quale stai o che tu desideri?

Esiste quella catena?

Forse sì...Esiste per chi ci crede. Per chi sogna. Per chi ama il mare. Per chi ama il vento, e la moto che si piega, e stringersi forte alla persona davanti. Per chi piega la testa e un po' si vergogna. Ma poi ride e ti guarda di nuovo, stavolta più intensa, perchè... Perchè ha voglia di te... Per lei che non cambia, per lei che ride e corre, per lei che è ingenua, che ha un sorriso bellissimo, che guarda le stelle e che ogni tanto ha paura, che si stringe forte a te, che ha freddo, che si addormenta... Per lei che ride come una pazza ad una battuta, per lei che si arrabbia perchè si accorge che un'altra invece non l'ha capita... Per lei che poi si mette a ridere di nuovo perchè comunque a quella battuta si è divertita un sacco. Per lei che mette il broncio ma che poi perdona perchè è buona, generosa, per lei che ama gli altri, per lei che non si risparmia e che ha coraggio e voglia di credere nelle cose. Per lei che discute e che quasi ci rimane male se ha detto troppo pur restando convinta delle sue idee, per lei che comunque qualunque cosa accada cambia anche idea ma continua a sognare. Ecco, per te che sei così. Per te che sogni, per te allora esiste la catena degli innamorati. Magari un giorno andrai lì a Roma su quel ponte, a Ponte Milvio, al terzo lampione, quello che si affaccia sul Tevere e che guarda il ponte di Corso Francia... E tu, quella catena, la troverai.

Thousands of government supporters are thronging Martyrs'Square early today, waving Lebanese flags and carrying candles and blue balloons, the color of Saad Hariri's Al Mustaqbal party.
Lebanese army troops are out in force across Beirut as government supporters, in cars and buses, traveled from all over the country towards Martyrs'Square, where the ceremony to commemorate the second anniversary of the killing of Premier Rafik Hariri is due to start at 10 AM.
Lebanese soldiers have erected a barbed-wire fence to separate pro-government demonstrators, who are expected to turn out in large numbers for the commemoration ceremony in downtown Beirut, where HA-led Opposition activists have been protesting round-the-clock since December the 1st.

REUTERS source: Nine killed in blasts near Lebanese Christian mountain town

Nine people were killed in two explosions that went off near the Lebanese Christian mountain town of Bikfaya on Tuesday, a security source said.
An army spokesman said that one blast had hit a bus carrying passengers near the town, but had no word on casualties.
He said it appeared from early information that the second blast had hit another bus in the same area.
It was not immediately clear what had caused the explosions, which occurred a day before the second anniversary of the assassination of former prime minister Rafik Hariri.
Bikfaya is the home town of former president Amin Gemayel, whose son Pierre was assassinated in November.

Upd. Al-Arabiya reports that the two explosions have been on minibuses 50mt far from each other. They left the village of Tighrin and were going to Bikfaya when, near Ain Alek, around 8 AM, the blasts. The bombs were placed on a bus under a seat that a passenger had left few minutes before the blast.

Upd.2 First minibus exploded in front of the second one, which stopped and passengers and driver went out to help. Then the second minibus exploded as well.
Hospitals in the area appealed for blood donations.

Upd.3 Red Cross reports three killed and seventeen wounded in buses bombing.

Lesson #2:- How to prepare ... Fatoush

Secondo appuntamento con la deliziosa cucina libanese, il Fatouch o Fattush.
Oggi abbiamo un'insalata mista con pane arabo grigliato, antipasto, molto facile.
Ingradienti:1 pane arabo grigliato
4 pomodori
1 cetriolo
1 cipolla
1 mazzetto di prezzemolo
1 mazzetto di menta
1 mazzetto di coriandolo (facoltativo)
4 cucchiai di olio
il succo di un limone
12 olive nere
2 spicchi d'aglio (facoltativo)
1 cucchiaino di sumak (sommaco: non facilissimo da trovare, è una spezia in polvere, di colore violaceo, molto usata anche in Turchia; se non la trovate, pazienza)
1 cucchiaino di menta secca
Preparazione: Sbriciolate il pane in un insalatiera; lavate i pomodori ed asciugateli, pelate il cetriolo, fate entrambi a dadini e metteteli nell'insalatiera.
Lavate i mazzetti di erbe, asciugaleli e tritateli non troppo fini; pelate e tritate la cipolla; aggiungete il tutto nell'insalatiera.
Consiglio: Tostate il pane da entrambi i lati finche' diventa dorato. Spezzettatelo in pezzi della grandezza di un piccolo chicco d'uva e metterli in un recipiente. Condite con una salsetta fatta cosi': in un mortaio pestate l'aglio col sale, aggiungetevi l'aceto o il limone e, in ultimo l'olio, amalgamando bene. Mescolate all'insalata ed in ultimo, aggiungete poco peperoncino. Servite fredda.
Presentazione:Servite in una ciotola comune, condite il tutto con il succo di limone, olio e sale. Cospargete di sumak, menta secca e aglio tritato fine; aggiungete le olive e mescolate il tutto.

Fatoush is the lebanese bread salad.
Ingradienti:1 loaf pita bread, dried or toasted
4 tomatoes
1 cucumber
1 onion
1 chopped parsley
1 chopped mint
1 bunch rare ripes, chopped (scallions)
4 spoon of olives oil
lemon juice
12 black olives
2 garlic
1 spoonful of sumak (a spice, not easy to find, violet, very used in Turkey)
1 spoonful of dried mint
Preparation: Break bread into bite-sized pieces (about 1 1/2 inch). Tear lettuce and toss in large salad bowl. Add all vegetables and mint. Add salt, pepper, lemon juice and oil; mix well. Before serving mix in bread well.
Tip: Cut your Lebanese bread in triangles and bake them in
a hot oven for five minutes till crispy. Add a sauce prepared as follows: mix garlic with salt, add vinaigre and lemon juice, then olives oil, shake well. Decorate around salad bowl with bread and pour sauce just before. Serving cool.
